Free Printable Paper

These are working sheets, not template downloads: the paper you see on each page is exactly what prints. Adjust the spacing and it redraws instantly, so a 1/4-inch grid measures a true 1/4 inch on the page. The print stylesheet strips the header, controls, and ads, leaving a clean full-page sheet — or a PDF, if you pick "Save as PDF" in the print dialog.

Math, graphing, and technical work. Reach for graph paper or grid paper — both are even square grids. The 1/4-inch graph default matches most quad-ruled school notebooks; drop to 1/5 inch, 5 mm, or 1/8 inch for denser plots, or step up to 1 cm for roomier graphing. Engineering paper adds a heavier line every fifth square — a bold 1/2-inch major line over a 1/10-inch grid — so you can sketch to scale and still read whole units at a glance.

Journaling, planning, and diagrams. Dot grid paper marks only the intersections instead of full lines, so your own writing stays the focus; the 5 mm spacing matches most bullet-journal notebooks. Dot paper spaces the dots wider (1/4 inch) for dots-and-boxes games and geoboard or array math.

3D sketching and design. Isometric paper is a triangular grid — vertical lines crossed by two sets of 30-degree diagonals — for drawing cubes and iso maps without a ruler. Hexagonal paper tiles the page with even hexagons for tabletop game maps and organic-chemistry ring structures.

Writing, notes, and music. Lined paper offers three rulings: wide ruled (11/32 inch), college ruled (9/32 inch, about 33 lines per page), and narrow ruled (1/4 inch) to fit more. Handwriting paper adds a dashed midline between the top line and baseline so letters get sized correctly, and Cornell notes paper splits the page into a cue column, a note area, and a summary band. Music staff paper gives you blank five-line staves with no clef printed, so it works in any key or instrument.

How to print at true size

Every sheet is drawn to real physical dimensions, so print it at full scale. In the print dialog set the scale to 100% or Actual Size — not "Fit to page," which shrinks the grid and throws off the measurements. A 1/4-inch square then measures a genuine 1/4 inch. To keep a copy, choose Save as PDF as the destination in that same dialog.

My grid prints smaller than it should — why? The dialog is scaling the page to fit. Set scaling to 100% or Actual Size and turn off "Fit to printable area."

What is the difference between college ruled and wide ruled? College ruled lines sit 9/32 inch apart (roughly 33 lines on a Letter page); wide ruled is 11/32 inch (about 25 lines) and suits younger writers.

Which paper is best for a bullet journal? Dot grid at 5 mm — the spacing most bullet-journal notebooks use. Set the dots to light gray and they nearly disappear once you write over them.

Can I change the spacing and line color before printing? Yes. Each paper page has controls for spacing, line color, orientation, and an optional 1/2-inch margin for hole-punching; the sheet redraws instantly, then you print.
